In 1910, Florence Lawrence became the first actor to have her name featured in the promotion of a film, making her the first ever movie star. Since then, movie stars have captured the hearts and imaginations of billions of people worldwide. From the instinctual improvisation of Marlon Brando, to the versatility and honesty of Meryl Streep, the depth of talent among movie stars is truly remarkable. For this assignment, you will choose a famous actor to study and create a project to showcase your learning. Have fun!
This resource guides students through conducting their own research report on a famous actor (45 topics are listed). After choosing an actor to focus on, students are asked to conduct research using the Internet and books while following criteria. Next, students are asked to share their learning by creating a poster board, presentation board, power point presentation, or dodecahedron (Instructions & Pentagon Template included). Artwork may also be created to further display learning. Finally, students present their work to the class.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy in which students are challenged to actively learn about a subject for an extended period of time. It is a form of active learning or inquiry-based learning. Project-Based Learning is in contrast to paper-based, rote memorization, or teacher-led instruction that presents established facts.
